The Team New York state tryout is being held May 19th at Rapid Fire Arena.  STATE WARS is being held this summer at the beautiful SportsONE Parkview Icehouse in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  We expect over 300 teams to participate this summer as it will be by far the largest single roller hockey event of the year!

Below you will find the tryout schedule for this weekend. Please keep telling others about tryouts as we are still accepting registrations for tryouts. We will NOT accept on site registrations, it must be done ONLINE.

May 19th @ Rapid Fire Arena

  • 3pm - 5pm : 2005, 2006, 2007, & younger
  • 5pm - 7pm : 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

TRYOUTS

  • at tryouts our staff will look to select 8 skaters and 1 goalie per team.  If our staff feels that based on talent, we cannot field a full team we have the right to select less players and fill spots with players of that skill level post tryout
  • if a player is absent for tryouts but has played in prior years and reached out to us, we may appoint a 'locked spot' for such player on rare occasions
  • our goal is to select 2 teams per birth year, all players will be assigned to the level our staff feels that player is best suited for
  • any player NOT selected to a team at tryouts will receive a full refund of tryout fee, but player must have attended the full 2 hour tryout to receive refund
  • Skills Competition
    • if a player is selected to be in the 'Fastest Skater', ‘Breakaway’, Accuracy Shooter or 'Goaltender' competition, the fee is $20 and can be paid on same check as player fee.
    • those chosen for this will also be listed on the Player Selection Roster posted on site at tryouts
    • all players in skills competition will receive a 'State Wars Skills tshirt' at the event

  • Uniform Sizing

    • when you registered online for tryouts you would have selected sizing for pants and jerseys.
    • After tryouts I will email a team roster with all uniform sizes on there, at that point parents will be able to make any changes if they want to
    • Pants per division will be
      • Alkali pants (2011, 2007, 2005, 2002)
      • Mission pants (6under, 2009, 2006, 2003)
      • Tour pants (2010, 2008, 2004, 2001)

  • Important Information for State Wars

    • State Wars is being held at the SportONE Parkview Icehouse (3869 Ice Way Fort Wayne, IN 46805) from July 23-Aug 5, 2019.
      • all youth divisions have a 4 day block (except 6u, 2011, 2010 divisions have a 3 day block)
        • all teams are guaranteed to play 5 games and play over the first 3 days of their block, the 4th day will depend how far you advance in playoffs
    • All uniforms will be given out at State Wars to the head coach/team manager at the coaches/managers meeting on site
    • We will assign a head coach and team manager to each team, if anyone is interested in helping out as a coach or manager, please email tim@statewarshockey.com or let us know on site at tryouts
    • All teams are required to stay at a 'Host Hotel' at State Wars.  WILL SEND OUT THE HOST HOTEL LIST AND LINK AFTER TRYOUT WEEKEND.
    • Team Practices : will be determined by head coach once assigned
    • Divisions at State Wars
      • most birth years will have (2) separate divisions : AAA/AA and A divisions.
        • after round robin play the AAA/AA division will split into AAA and AA playoff rounds
        • after round robin play the A division will reseed and all teams will advance to A playoff round
        • **all teams will advance to either AAA, AA or A playoff round**  Once teams advance to playoffs it will become single elimination, we will award medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each AAA, AA and A division.
    • The full game schedule for State Wars will be released around July 4th!
    • ALL games will be LIVE STREAMED for FREE at State Wars!
