Thank you for registering for tryouts. Below you will find the TRYOUT SCHEDULE for TEAM TENNESSEE
State Wars will be held this summer at the beautiful St.Peters Rec Plex in St.Peters, Missouri. The Rec Plex houses 3 NHL sized rinks, is an an air-conditioned facility and is only about 15 minutes from Lambert Airport. We expect over 300 teams from all across North America and other parts of the world to be competing this summer at the sports BIGGEST & BEST event….STATE WARS.
Our goal is always to see the state programs grow, so please send this info out to all players you know, as registration is still open! You can help make sure that Team TN is as strong as possible and help insure we can field multiple teams in a birth year. We can always use goalies!!! Spread the word please!
The TEAM TENNESSEE tryout is being held Wed April 17th at the HIHA Rinks in Hendersonville. Please continue to spread the word about tryouts to all friends, teammates and even your TN opponents! Registration still open at link below.
2024 Team Tennessee State Tryout Schedule Wednesday April 17th. (RAIN DATE : Thur April 18th, same times)- (check in at 445pm) 5pm - 630pm : 2014 - 2009
- (check in at 615pm) 630pm - 8pm : 2008, 2007, 2006
For all 6u and 8u players, these divisions allow for a local coach to select and enter their own Team Tennessee squad. If your child is not on a team planning to come, they can still tryout and be potentially put on a team but at least have the chance to be evaluated. They should attend the earlier session. IMPORTANT PLAYER INFO (PLEASE READ ALL)
All players will attend the state tryout, at the conclusion of your tryout session, the team selected will be posted on the wall on site (simply by jersey #s worn of the tryout jerseys given out on site). Those selected will do the following:
- Make a payment of the $320 player fee (plus sills competition fee if selected on site). Payment is collected so custom uniforms may be ordered.
- Acceptable payments are :
- Check made payable to ‘State Wars Hockey’
- Pay via PayPal or credit card on our site, here is LINK to do so
- Pay via Zelle to tim@statewarshockey.com (list in note players name, state and birth year)
- Pay via venmo to TMCMANUS40 (list in note player name, state and birth year)
- The player fee paid covers :
- Entry fee into State Wars (5 game minimum)
- Custom Team Tennessee home AND away jerseys
- Custom State Wars Hockey pants
- Free pass to link to watch live stream of all games at State Wars
- When you registered for tryouts you selected jersey size, pants size and jersey #. Our on site staff member will review this with you when you come to make payment. We will have jersey and pants for your child to try on if they want to see the fit. We can make changes on site.
- A few days after the tryouts, I will email all parents a team roster with a list of each players uniform info. You will be given one final chance to make any changes then before they are ordered. All uniforms will be distributed at the coaches/managers meeting at State Wars.
TRYOUT PROCESS
- At tryouts our staff will look to select 8 skaters and 1 goalie per team. If our staff feels that based on talent, we cannot field a full team we can select less players and look to fill open spots with equally skilled players who registered for tryouts but couldn’t attend.
- Meaning, that if a player’s skill level is weaker than the average player in the group they will not be selected just for showing up, hence our risk free tryout and refund policy.
- Our goal is to select 2 teams in a birth year, one to play in the AAA/AA division and another to play in the A division at State Wars. Players will be placed where our staff feels they belong and where they will have the best experience at State Wars.
- Any player not selected to a team will receive a full refund of their tryout fee, paid back via PayPal during the week.
SKILLS COMPETITION
- At tryouts our staff will select players to compete in the State Wars Skills Competition. Players may be selected to compete in the ‘Fastest Skater Challenge’, the ‘Top Sniper Contest (breakaways), Top Goalie Contest, or the ‘Accuracy Shooter Challenge”.
- These skillful players will be listed with the tryout results. The cost to compete in the Skills Comp is $25. Only players selected will be able to compete
- All contestants will receive a State Wars Skills t-shirt at the event
IMPORTANT INFO FOR STATE WARS
- All divisions will only play a 3 day block during State Wars (here is LINK to block dates)
- Teams should be prepared to play first thing in the morning on the first day of block thru the evening of last day of block
- We will assign a head coach and team manager to each team, if anyone is interested in getting involved please email tim@statewarshockey.com or let u know at tryouts. Coaches wont be decided until the teams are selected. Head coaches will invite their asst coaches.
- All teams are required to stay at a ‘Host Hotel’ at State Wars. Here is the LINK
- Team Practices : will be organized by head coach as they will coordinate times that work with parents and players.
- Divisions at State Wars
- Most birth years will have (2) separate divisions at State Wars : AAA/AA and A divisions
- After 4 round robin games, the AAA/AA division will split into separate AAA and AA playoff brackets (all teams qualify)
- After 4 round robin games, all teams in the A division will reseed and start an A playoff bracket (all teams qualify)
- Divisions will conclude with bronze medal followed by gold medal games in AAA, AA, and A brackets
- All special events such as Skills Competition, Players Awards Presentation (light show), and Medal Ceremonies will take place during the 3 day block dates.
- The full State Wars game schedule will be released around July 4th.
- All games will be live streamed at State Wars!
